SKZ initiated the Adopt a Child project to provide care and support to orphans and underprivileged children in need. By distributing the responsibilities of caring for these children to privileged families and individuals, we aim to create a sense of affection and community. Slum children, in particular, face challenges due to the lack of resources and support available to them. Through this project, we hope to ensure that these vulnerable children feel safe and secure and that they have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
Getting high-quality education is the right of every child. Pakistan has the worldâs second-highest number of out-of-school children, estimated at 22.8 million between 5 and 16 (UNICEF). SKZ is highly proactive in bringing as many people on board for this national issue as possible. SKZ has launched the âProvide a teacher in Gilgit Baltistanâ project for this very purpose.
Slum children make up a large number of the malnourished population. Lack of food is one of the major causes of death in slum areas. The figures below show the nutrition deficiency diseases in Pakistan. People in slum areas suffer such losses regularly because they have minimal or no resources and are vulnerable to certain contaminations. SKZ is in a fight against childhood hunger and believes that that no child should ever have to go to bed hungry. Thatâs why weâve created our âSKZ Food Packageâ initiative to ensure that every child in need has access to nutritious meals.
