“Sharing to Care”
In Pakistan, 95 million people live below the poverty line. Our country has the lowest per capita income in South Asia and the highest number of out-of-school children globally. The SKZ Foundation helps your Zakat reach these communities by providing them with food, clean water, education, and other basic necessities.
Zakat is a mandatory act of worship for every eligible Muslim whose wealth surpasses the Nisaab threshold and a lunar year has passed. Constituting 2.5% of the total Zakatable wealth, Zakat serves as a means to purify our wealth while aiding those in need.
Being the third pillar of Islam, Zakat holds a lot of importance in Islam. Unlike general Sadaqah, Zakat is allocated to specific categories of individuals, as outlined in the Quran.
Allah tells us in the Quran:
“Indeed, [prescribed] charitable offerings are only [to be given] to the poor and the indigent, and to those who work on [administering] them, and to those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to [free] those in bondage, and to the debt-ridden, and for the cause of Allah, and to the wayfarer. [This is] an obligation from Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.â [Surah Al-Tawbah, 60]
The Nisab is the minimum wealth a Muslim must have before being obligated to pay Zakat, known as the Nisab threshold. It is calculated using gold and silver values.
For this year, 2024, it is:
Nisab using silver 52.5 tola (612.36 grams): approximately £355.7 or 125,195 PKR
Nisab using gold 7.5 tola (87.48 grams): approximately £4542.84 or 1,611,264 PKR
At SKZ Foundation, we firmly uphold the belief that Zakat is a sacred trust carrying boundless blessings, not only for the recipients but also for the generous donors and usâthe team working on the ground to deliver your crucial, life-saving contributions.
Our commitment extends to creating a safer, dignified world for all. By donating your Zakat, you play a vital role in protecting the world’s most vulnerable communities. Donate your Zakat today to make a meaningful impact through the SKZ Foundation.
We believe that only education and skill development can empower youth, shaping their futures and substantiating the deprived community.Â
